About Me
Under God and family, I have two great loves--writing and music.
My passion is communicating--finding and telling stories that matter, and using the tools for visual impact to make those stories resonate.
I believe in being transparent and genuine, focused on the team, and I'm
passionate about my work. When it comes to my craft, I'm a word nerd--a
proofreader who appreciates a second set of eyes on a product. It's important to me that it gets done right--down to the placement of a comma or a better way to say something.
My professional journey has taken me from the high school and junior college classroom as an instructor teaching English, writing, and business communications; to trained and experienced communications practitioner.
Honor is important to me: My late father served in the U.S. Air Force and, building on that legacy, I've dedicated several years to telling the Soldier's story.
I have enjoyed outreach opportunities to work with city, congressional and military leaders over the years.
I have received awards for feature writing as a communications professional, and for innovative lesson plans and instruction as an educator.
“If your policies were good and your facts were good, the stories would write themselves.”
